Château Barrail-Laussac

Bordeaux | AOC Bordeaux

Château Barrail Laussac benefits from Barton & Guestier’s expertise in selecting and making wines.

Made with traditional winemaking methods, this wine is typical of its appellation: soft, rich fruity and well-structured with an excellent ageing potential.

Grape varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon

Tasting notes: Brilliant purple red colour with a good intensity. Nice bouquet of ripe raspberry and cherry mixed with some elegant black pepper and cinnamon hints. Good balance with harmonious tannins and a long fruity finish.

Food matches: Grilled meat, pâté and cheese – Between 16°C and 18°C.

Serving temperature: 16-18°C (61-65°F)

Winemaking: The 18 hectares, located in Landerrouat in the Southern part of the Bordeaux appellation, are complanted with 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc. The vines, with an average age of 25 years, grow on clay-limestone soil, with excellent sun exposure. The careful fermentation brings out rich flavors and tannins and is followed by several months of aging. De-stalked grapes – alcoholic fermentation at high temperature (30 to 32°C) with daily rack and return – long maceration ( 3 weeks) – Malolactic fermentation

Soil: Clay and limestone
Climate: Oceanic, mild and humid.
Aging: Ageing in vats with micro oxidation
Sugar levels: < 1 g/l
Sizes available: 75cl

High environmental value
