Château Le Grand Sigognac

Château Le Grand Sigognac benefits from Barton & Guestier’s expertise in selecting and making wines.

Made with traditional winemaking methods, this wine is typical of its appellation: soft, rich fruity and well-structured with an excellent ageing potential.

Grape varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot

Tasting notes:

Deep and brilliant purple red colour.


Complex and rich, combining nice black currant aromas with hints of mint, liquorice and flattering toasty notes.


Well balanced, harmonious with a long fruity and spicy finish.

Food matches:

Red meat, barbecue, strong cheese – Between 16°C and 18°C. Elegant wine, fruity, with a good texture. Ideal with red meat.


 Can age a couple of years in a cellar.

Serving temperature: 16-18°C (61-65°F)

Winemaking: De-stalked grapes – alcoholic fermentation at high temperature (30°C) with 1 or 2 pumping over per day to enhance smoothness and volume– long maceration ( 3 to 5 weeks) - Malolactic fermentation – Ageing in oak for one part of the harvest for 6 months.

Soil: Clay, sand and limestone
Climate: Oceanic, mild and humid.
Aging: Ageing in oak for one part of the harvest for 6 months.
Sugar levels: < 1 g/l
Sizes available: 75cl
