Thomas Barton Reserve Sauternes 2008"The exception proves the rule - an eminently affordable Sauternes delivering all that delicious succulent concentrated semillon. And do note that unlike most of its peers, that price is for the full bottle. (Independant wineshops at around €20).

Partager Reserve Merlot 2010

87 pts. The Partager label has been in our market for decades so it was due for a makeover. This wine is varietally labelled as merlot and vintage dated 2010 and comes from Pays d'Oc in the south of France and is a great buy. Expect a deep purple red with mild aromas of black and red berry fruit. It is full bodied and flavourful with a long dry finish. It needs some juicy grilled meat or rich cheese for best enjoyment. Decant for an hour before serving. Best 2012 to 2015. Tasted October 2011.

Partager Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

85 pts. A decent simple cabernet with some varietal character. The nose shows mild blackberry aromas with some pencil lead notes. It is full bodied clean and fruity with good balancing acidity and soft tannin. Good length. Try with roast meats. Best 2011 to 2013. Tasted October 2011.

Visita a Chateau Magnol, Barton & Guestier - Burdeos 23 Octubre 2011
