 > BE CURIOUS!

Philippe MarionOur company founder Thomas Barton was a pioneer, an adventurer and a man with a vision.
Above all he was curious! His curiosity brought him to discover other countries, of which France, and also other trade goods than sheep-wool... wines!
Once settled in Bordeaux, he became curious about wines, not only about how to trade them, he became a Chateau owner and learned about growing grapes and making wines.
His curiosity lead him to learn and to improve whatever he undertook. After Thomas, new generations applied his strategy which proved to be successful.

Today, teasing people's curiosity and helping them to learn and discover about wines, is what we continue to do.

First of all, at Château Magnol, in our wineschool, where all our tradepartners are welcome to assist the Wine Connaisseur Programme. This free mid-week training seminar, already known to many of you, proposes theoretical sessions, like history, winemaking, the French classification system,.. and, above all, practical winetasting sessions to discover the huge variety of French wines. In addition, our Chef Frederic now also proposes a cooking class, entirely focused on learning about food and wine pairing! Here again, curiosity and open-mindness are required! Moreover, upon request, Laurent Prada also organises blending sessions for those who are curious to know about the way different varietals combine to make the perfect Cru!

Second, through the launch of our B&G Passeport range we invite our consumers to discover and learn more about French appellations. The range counts 19 AOC wines from six main wine-growing regions.
The specially developed passport, that accompanies the launch of the range, is a treasure of information for those who want to know more about France.

Third, by implementing QR codes on our backlabels, we provide additional information our wines. Over the coming months, we plan to extend this informative part with matching recipes developed by our Chef Frederic.
