Discover his vision on Barton & Guestier...
Upon your arrival in 2009, what was your first impression of the B&G brand-image?
When I joined Barton & Guestier as Export Manager in December 2009 I had already spent two years as B&G Brand Ambassador in Ireland, and I already had very good insight into the quality of our distribution and the awareness that the brand is enjoying in the 130 markets we are exporting to.
How is that brand-image of B&G today?
If customers and consumers feedback is anything to go by I can say that what has made the strengths and the good image of Barton & Guestier in the last years has been the continual improvement of the quality of our wines, the diversity and depth of our range, and the innovative marketing initiatives.
Where do you see the most possibilities of development?
I naturally look at the Far East but I think the potential is still huge in Europe notably in Ireland and UK where we will continue to grow our business sustainably.
What has been your biggest satisfaction so far?
The strong footprint and leading position of Barton & Guestier in Ireland when it comes to French wines and our various development projects in China and South East Asia.
What is your best travel souvenir? And the worst?
My first trip to Asia was really mind broadening and really enriching both professionally and personally. There’s no bad travelling souvenir really because everywhere I go, I’m always welcomed and very well looked after plus most people you meet in the wine trade are passionate about what they do, and therefore they are very interesting.
A favourite market?
Markets still to be opened.
What is your favourite B&G wine?
Château Magnol, my every day wine!
