Cuvée Spéciale> Les Charmes de Magnol Bordeaux Blanc

Welcome to the new baby in the Charmes de Magnol family!

Terroir

Les Charmes de Magnol Bordeaux Blanc is a blend of the famous Bordeaux varietals Sauvignon Blanc (80%) and Sémillon (20%) coming from the best terroirs situated on the right bank of the Gironde estuary. The sandy soil layered with gravel and crumbled limestone produces the nicest AOC Bordeaux white wines!

Winemaking

Skin contact maceration and low temperature fermentation: 60% in new oak barrels and 40% in vats, followed by 3 months of ageing in new oak barrels with stirring.
Les Charmes de Magnol Bordeaux Blanc is estate bottled.

Tasting notes

  • Eyes: Bright yellow colour with green highlights
  • Nose: Intense aromas of tropical fruit (passion fruit) and citrus (lemon, lime).
On the second nose, seductive white flowers and vanilla notes appear.
  • Mouth: Extremely fruity on the palate, well balanced, with a crisp and zesty finish.
A great example of the 2010 vintage.

Pairing

Les Charmes de Magnol Bordeaux Blanc is excellent with seafood, fish, or on its own as an aperitif.
Serve fresh between 10°C and 12°C.

> A new Classroom for B&G’s wineschool!

Distributor’s sales teams and key customers will now enjoy a superb new classroom with a clear product presentation of wines and promotional materials. Students are now in excellent condition to learn more about Barton & Guestier.
Every week Barton & Guestier welcomes its tradepartners and journalists from worldwide at Château Magnol to attend the Wine Connaisseur Programme, the company’s wineschool.

This 3-day educational program is associated with promoting the Barton & Guestier brand.
Solange Galan, Chateau Magnol & Education Manager, covers themes as varied as the history of wine, the French Appellation system, the winemaking and tasting techniques.

In addition, the students learn more about the B&G communication and promotion tools during a special marketing presentation.

The theory is combined with practical wine tasting lessons and visits to some other famous Chateaux in the Bordeaux vineyards!

A special attention is paid also to the food and wine pairing, especially during the lunches and dinners carefully prepared by Chateau Magnol’s Chef Frederique Prouvoyeur.

But all those who came to Chateau Magnol’s wineschool over the past 20 years, know that there is more to discover at Chateau Magnol... beyond the wineschool ... beyond the dedicated team ... things that words can’t tell...

Solange Galan will be pleased to inform you about available dates and to receive you in the new classroom!
