Bistro Varietals

French tradition

It is a tradition in France to meet at the local bistro to relax, socialize, drink wine and dine in a casual friendly setting. The Bistro varietals, consisting of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, have all the right qualities of good bistro wines: simple, delicious, fun to drink, and excellent with lots of different foods and flavors!

The vineyards

The grapes for Bistro Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon come from the Languedoc, where the varied climates and soils provide ideal sourcing for the fruit-forward, softer style of Bistro wines. The Mediterranean climate presents a low rainfall and winds bringing cool air down from the moutains and tempering the summer sun. This results in nicely balanced wines with concentrated flavours.

The grapes for Bistro Pinot Noir are grown in the foothills near Aleria on the east coast of the island Corsica (Isle of Beauty) framed between the mountains and the sea. The rather cool temperatures help the grapes to develop rich fruit-focused wines.
